Lets see.....what to talk about??? Hmmm......
Well, its Spring and although I am not ready to start fitting into skimpier clothes, I am psyched about Spring makeup! The two hottest trends for Spring 2010 are:
1. Au Natural (for some, this look is great...personally, for me....its not so good!) The key to being able to carry this look off, is to have flawless skin. Its super important that you cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Don't forget your SPF! It's imperative to protect your skin from the damaging rays of the sun. To make it easy, buy a moisturizer with SPF in it. I personally use Aveeno. It has an SPF 15, which is good for every day use, when I am going to be directly in the sun, I use a minimum of SPF 30.
To get this look, you just need to conceal any spots or discolorations and finish with a light powder. A thin line of eyeliner on top to help the eyes pop and some mascara. A little blush, maybe some highlighter on your cheek and brow bones to give you that "glow" and finish off with with a nice natural lipgloss!
2. Quite the opposite of the natural look is COLOR COLOR, COLOR! Colorful, bright shadows are another hot trend for Spring 2010. Shades of Green, Blue, Hot Pink, Yellow and Purples add a lot of fun to your Spring face. Don't be afraid! Get creative with it. Just be careful when using pinks....although it's a great color to play with, it can make you look tired if it's not placed right.
Enjoy the great weather! I will post again soon!

ReplyDeleteDoes au natural mean less make-up or just neutral tones?
ReplyDeleteGreat Post! I am so happy au natural is hip. Makes my life easier. I appreciated your tip a few months ago when you gently suggested to wear mascara for my eyes to pop. I feel like I'm polished looking and yet it's super fast to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jodi - you are such a talent.
